The Dubai Design District master plan is an 18-million-square-foot expansion of d3 between Downtown Dubai and Dubai Creek. Led by Meraas, it extends the established creative district into a mixed-use waterfront neighbourhood combining residences, offices, cultural venues, retail, hospitality and landscaped public spaces.
The master plan is organised into five distinct areas: The Creekside, Design HQ, SOHO, The Sanctuary and The Mindspace. These are connected by the six-kilometre Design Line, a shaded pedestrian-first route designed to link the residential, commercial and creative parts of Dubai Design District

The Five Areas of d3
The 18-million-square-foot Dubai Design District master plan introduces five connected areas combining residential, commercial, cultural, hospitality and public spaces. The expansion extends d3 towards Dubai Creek while remaining connected to the established creative and business district.
The five areas are linked by the Design Line, a six-kilometre car-free pedestrian route incorporating landscaped corridors, public art, event spaces and connections between homes, workplaces and lifestyle destinations.
The Creekside
The Creekside forms the waterfront residential heart of d3. Set along Dubai Creek, it includes high-rise residences, boutique hospitality, dining, retail and a landscaped promenade. Atélis at d3 and The Edit at d3 are among its first residential developments.
Design HQ
Design HQ is planned as the principal business and commercial area within the expansion. It will combine premium offices with residences, curated retail, restaurants and direct connections to the established d3 business district.
SOHO
SOHO is envisioned as an active cultural and entertainment destination. The area will include performance spaces, exhibitions, creative venues, restaurants and public areas designed to support events throughout the year.
The Sanctuary
The Sanctuary is the master plan’s lower-density, wellbeing-focused residential area. It is planned around landscaped spaces, family amenities, sports facilities and views towards Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Mindspace
The Mindspace will focus on creativity, experimentation and collaboration. Planned uses include galleries, studios, shared workspaces and flexible environments for artists, designers and creative businesses.

Lifestyle and Amenities
The expanded Dubai Design District is planned as a mixed-use destination combining waterfront living, creative workplaces, cultural venues and public spaces. Residents and visitors will have access to dining, retail, hospitality, landscaped areas and pedestrian connections across the five areas of d3.
Restaurants and Retail
Cafés, restaurants, boutiques and concept stores across the mixed-use areas.
Waterfront Promenade
Creekside walking routes with dining, retail and landscaped public spaces.
Arts and Culture
Galleries, exhibitions, performance venues and creative installations throughout d3.
Landscaped Public Spaces
Shaded walkways, green corridors and gathering areas integrated throughout the district.
The Design Line
A six-kilometre car-free route connecting homes, workplaces and lifestyle destinations.
Hospitality and Recreation
Boutique hotels, wellness facilities, sports areas and community amenities.
Residential Projects at d3
Residential development at Dubai Design District is being introduced through a growing collection of design-led apartment projects. Current Meraas developments include Design Quarter at d3, Atélis at d3 and The Edit at d3, offering residences within the established district and along the newer Dubai Creek waterfront.

Dubai Design District Master Plan Location
The expanded master plan extends Dubai Design District towards Dubai Creek, between the established d3 business district and Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary. The Creekside occupies the waterfront edge, while the remaining areas connect back towards d3’s existing offices, studios, galleries and event spaces.
The location places the new residential and mixed-use areas close to Downtown Dubai, Business Bay and DIFC, with road access from Ras Al Khor Road and Al Khail Road. Pedestrian routes through the master plan are intended to connect the new neighbourhoods with the established creative district.
